Handcrafted by the Wayuu People - Guajira, Colombia.
Wayuu are notable for their textile work. To them, weaving is more than a cultural practice inherited from their ancestors, it is a way of conceiving & expressing life as they desire and feel it, an art thought & enjoyed.
The observation of its innumerable tissues allows them to read the spirit guiding their actions & thoughts.
"Kanas", a very old art & the maximum expression of Wayuu’s weaving, consists of a fabric of stylized geometric figures representing elements of the natural environment surrounding their daily life. The more complex the figures, the greater value the piece acquires.
Please refer to our Craftsmanship section to learn some more about the Wayuu People & the meaning of knitting!
Lou is made out of cotton and through crochet technique which is used for smaller pieces, using a single strand. Use it as an organizer pouch to carry small everyday items.
